Who is eligible for SGIP?

Through SGIP's Residential Solar and Storage Equity program, for example, you may be eligible for a no-cost solar and battery system if your annual household income falls below 80% of the average median income for your county and household size. 

There are other SGIP rebates in which your eligibility for a discounted system depends on factors like exposure to wildfires, experience with Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) or being on medical baseline.

Medical baseline: If you've already qualified for medical baseline, you'll be able to see this designation on your utility bill.

SGIP offers different types of rebates depending on your situation. These are grouped into categories like Equity Resiliency, Small Residential, and Residential Solar and Storage Equity (RSSE), among others. Each category helps cover a portion of the project cost and has its own set of eligibility rules. One general rule is that these rebates are all first-come, first-serve, and available funds can move quickly.
