How to get a free battery in California
Meet SGIP, or the Self-Generation Incentive Program. SGIP provides incentives to homeowners to install renewable energy technologies.
SGIP has different types of rebates, depending on your qualifications. Currently, Haven is focused on helping homeowners qualify for the SGIP Equity Resiliency program. If you're approved, you will receive a fully state-funding home battery system.
Who qualifies for the free battery program?
The Equity Resiliency rebate provides qualifying homeowners in California with a free battery system. You do not need to have solar panels already installed. To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must live in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 high fire risk area OR have experienced a certain number of public scheduled power shutoffs (PSPS) AND
- Your annual income must be below a certain limit (based on county and household size) OR you must be enrolled in your utility's medical baseline program
We know, it's a little complicated. The good news is that we have an amazing team of Energy Advisors to help check (and double-check) that you meet the program requirements. Learn more by visiting havenenergy.com/qualify
