How to Power Cycle Your FranklinWH aPower2 Battery System
Sometimes your FranklinWH system just needs a quick reboot to get things back on track. This guide walks you through safely turning your system off and back on, also called a power cycle.

Before You Start
- Make sure there's no power outage in your area.
- Turn off any sensitive electronics if you're worried about brief interruptions.
- You’ll need access to both the aPower2 battery and the aGate (your system's main control box).
Step-by-Step: Power Cycle Instructions
1. Turn Off the aPower2 Battery
Step 1.1: Find the aPower2 battery, it's a large white unit, usually mounted near your electrical panel. Photo below:
Step 1.2: Identify the small push button on the right side of the battery.
Step 1.3: Press the small push button. This turns off the battery.
2. Turn Off the aGate
Step 2.1: Locate the aGate, this is typically a gray or white box labeled "FranklinWH" that is slightly smaller than the battery.
Step 2.2: Find the main breaker feeding power into the aGate. This is usually next to or inside your main electrical panel.
Step 2.3: Flip that breaker to OFF. (Note: OFF is in the open position noted in photo above).
Step 2.4: Wait 30 seconds to let the system shut down completely
3. Wait for 1 Minute
Step 3.1: Give your system a moment to rest; waiting 1 full minute helps everything reset properly.
4. Turn the System Back On
Step 4.1: Turn On the aGate
- Step 4.1.1: Flip the main breaker for the aGate back to ON
- Step 4.1.2: Wait 2 minutes for the system to boot up
Step 4.2: Turn On the aPower2 Battery
- Step 4.2.1: Flip the DC breaker on the aPower2 battery back to ON.
- Step 4.2.2: You should see lights come on. A solid or blinking green light means everything’s working properly.
5. Check the FranklinWH App
Step 5.1: Open your FranklinWH app to make sure everything looks good.
Step 5.2: You should see that your system is online, and power is flowing as expected.
