How are SGIP rebates granted?
Haven is your partner for getting a low-cost or no-cost solar + battery system through California's SGIP program.
The SGIP program has been around for years and the state has funded and re-funded different programs under the SGIP umbrella. In most cases, homeowners who qualify for an SGIP rebate experience a similar process. They partner with an SGIP-certified developer like Haven to submit their application and then that developer manages the installation of the system.
Here's a bit more about what that looks like.
There are two main steps. First, after we confirm your eligibility for SGIP, we'll submit your application to the state as the developer for your future system. This application contains a form called the Reservation Request Form (RRF), which you will need to sign. If your RRF is approved, it means your system has been officially funded.
The second step happens after we design and install your system. Once your system has been interconnected and received a Permission To Operate (PTO) from your utility, we'll ask you to sign an Incentive Claim Form (ICF). This form releases the SGIP funds reserved for your system and allows us to get reimbursed by the state as your developer.
