Does SGIP work with CCAs?
Yes, many Haven customers receive their electricity from CCAs (Community Choice Aggregation) and gotten approved for SGIP.
The timelines for SGIP approval are sometimes longer for CCAs, as we need to wait they get an approved demand response program by the state. Enrollment in demand response is a requirement for receiving a system through SGIP.
CCAs let local governments buy electricity for their communities by aggregating their residents' demand. The existing utility still handles delivering the power, as well as metering, billing, and customer service. If you're not sure if you're with a CCA, you can ask your IOU provider or check the California Community Choice Association's interactive map or CCA City/County lookup.
