Battery import and export settings

What does battery import mean?

Whether your battery can charge using electricity from the grid. Even if battery import is not allowed, your home can still use grid electricity normally.

What does battery export mean?

Whether your battery can send stored electricity back to the grid. This is different from solar panels sending excess electricity to the grid.

Will these settings affect my battery or backup power?

The battery can still power the home and provide backup during outages, but how it recharges and whether it sends electricity to the grid may change.

Why does my utility require these settings?

Utilities have rules for how batteries connect to and exchange electricity with the grid. Haven configures each system to meet its approved requirements.
